It's been five years since the battle at Corna di Luce on Sky Island 11 and the situation has gotten worse. 5 years ago, about two days after the battle at Corna di Luce on Sky Island 11, the Elpis Mercantile Federation accidentally lost control and released two beasts, Materno: The Fifth Beast Who Spreads Widely and Croyance: The Eleventh Beast Who Remains Rooted both onto Sky Islands 13 and 39 respectively. Star Wars Manga: The Empire Strikes Back is a manga-style adaptation of the film The Empire Strikes Back. The series was illustrated by Toshi Kudo and David Land, and was specifically adapted from the screenplay of the movie by Lawrence Kasdan and George Lucas. It was, of course, based on the original story, though slight differences between the manga and the movie do occur. Due to the fact that it is an adaptation of the movie, it is treated in the same vein as the Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back novelization.It enjoys a level of canon only slightly lower than G-level canon, and takes precedence over other Expanded Universe works.
