While strolling along the sidewalk on a hot summer day, Natsuo Sasamoto spots an unusual sight—a girl melting on the sidewalk. Natsuo soon learns from the girl that she is a Yuki-onna, a snow spirit from Japanese folklore. The spirit introduces herself as Ichigo and informs him of her desire to visit the sea. After heading to the seashore and playing with Natsuo, Ichigo uses her powers to create summer snowfall before returning to her mountain home, mesmerizing Natsuo in the process. The very next day, Ichigo returns with a request of experiencing the summer season of the human world with Natsuo.
