Gods can only love one god in their lifetime. This is the golden rule, and Artes has already lost his sole love by the time he meets a young Liam. The short interaction plants a seed in Liam’s heart, and his love blooms when he meets Artes once again years down the line. However, Artes cannot love Liam back because of the gods’ golden rule…which will bring death to those who defy it. However, Liam is a temptation that Artes has difficulty resisting.
