Within the walls of Tokyo all seventeen year olds are hunted by militant teachers. Ooe Saku has just turned seventeen. Now he must fight for his life and he doesn't even know why.

In the year 2290 in Tokyo, a powerful detective association financed by the state is in charge of resolving criminal cases, relegating the police to the background. Although now a new generation of detectives with supernatural powers has appeared that threatens their supremacy. In this climate, the "detective ritual" is convened, a shady initiation ceremony for the Order of Gentlemen Detectives that is carried out on a mysterious island that only appears on special days.
