Publisher Hayakawa is celebrating its 70th anniversary with two manga anthology reprints. One collection is dedicated to mystery works while the other compiles sci-fi stories printed over the publisher's long career.
Three classmates, including Mari, a full-time housewife, Sayo, who is in divorce mediation with her husband, and Satoe, a career woman, gather when their high school classmate Hiromi die lonely in an apartment owned her. The will left by Hiromi was accompanied by the names of three people who were not so close to each other for some reason, and included a request for the remaining apartment, Hakurensou, and the mysterious inhabitants afterwards. It is a story about three women born in 1963 who live in a "difficult reality" in an unchanging relationship and changing circumstances. **Note:** The series was serialized in a josei manga magazine, *Josei Seven*, and was made into a book with *major additions and corrections*. Containing two stories from Okaya Izumi, “Drunks” offers up a pair of romantic short stories. Opening up the collection, the titular “Drunks” follows a man who falls in love with a vampire who first leaves him with the impression of being an alcoholic. “Tick Tock”, about a romance decades in the making, matches up a woman frozen for years with the caretaker of her cryogenic chamber.
