Unsuccessful manga artist Shirafuji Kuroro can see spirits and is easily possessed by them. He is able to "host" possessed spirits to Jizo statues and stone statues. He makes use of this ability to live in haunted properties and earn a living by receiving a fee. One day, what he thought was just another haunted property suddenly bursts into flames and he is transported to another world! Kuroro is thrown into another world with nothing, but it seems there are "haunted properties" here too. So he decides to live in a "haunted property" in the other world too.

As such, the story is considered part of the canon of the regular series, taking place between the events that occur in chapter 4 "The great responsibility of the football club" of the 1981 manga.
