Kadokawa describes Areyo Hoshikuzu's story as a "bromance in the ruins of Tokyo." Kawashima Tokutarou, a drunk in the city's burnt-down rubble, reunites with his old World War II comrade Kuroda Kadomatsu just over one year after Japan's defeat. The manga depicts the daily life in the underworld of post-war Japan, including the black market, the "pan-pan girl" prostitutes and the government's euphemistic "Comfort Facilities," and the war orphans. *Note: Winner of the 23rd Tezuka Osamu Cultural Awards in 2019 for New Creator.*

A spin-off manga which mostly contains adaptation of Lupin III media from pachinko, TV series, games and light novels. Only one chapter has an original story. It was created by Naoya Hayakawa, supervised by TMS Entertainment and it was first serialized in Lupin III Official Magazine from 2009 to 2015. Nine volumes, which compiled all the chapters, have been released by Futabasha between October 2010 and February 2016. Unlike the other derivative works where illustrators did their own take, Lupin III H is inspired by the anime with character designs taking cues mostly from Lupin the 3rd Part 1 and Part 2.
