Lovers Walking on a Clockwork

Three years after the revolution toppled the monarchy, Princess Lien, who had been confined underground, enters into a political marriage with Duke Lishian of Roche-Noire by order of the Emperor. Lien, who had always retreated into the abyss of her own making whenever others’ judgments were directed at her, finally comes face to face with her true self through her love and solidarity with him, and realizes for the first time that promises and trust are stronger than fate, and that they were each other’s most radiant homecoming—having walked side by side while gazing at the same star.
