Danmatsuma/Norowareta Shison/Raigoro-chan
The 2024 Daimansai marks the 20th installment of the commemorative Kidan series, returning to its roots with Shouji Hashimoto, author of the first installment, "Yuurei Kanja."
This volume includes the title story "Danmatsuma" by Saburou Tsuyuki (Gorou Sugimoto) featuring a cover by Shigeru Mizuki. It's a story filled with screams from start to finish, featuring a mad criminal psychologist—taken from the collected volume, "Kiseijin." It's known within Togetsu Shobou as one of the hardest to find titles with the highest concentration of "Togetsu-ness."
Next in the collection is “Norowareta Shison,” a hidden work by Hashimoto which was originally published in the collection "Kaidan Ishikozume" (怪談石子詰, Togetsu Shobou) under his real name and the pseudonym Kiyoshi Tanigawa. Second is "Norowareta Shison," a timeless revenge drama.
Finally, three short to medium-length stories from Raigoro-chan—Shouji Hashimoto’s take on the legend of Momotaro, in which Goro-chan, the boy of thunder, punishes evil people. While not strictly a horror story, it is uniquely and extraordinarily unconventional.
