This volume pairs two stories from the series’ six-title collection: Osorenuma and Yonaki Kaiboku. The author, Kenji Shimane, is also known as Kenji Sasaoka, the first chief assistant at Mizuki Productions. Although the "kaiki roman series" was created before Shimane joined the production company—an event that “broke” the great Mizuki—his artistic style already closely resembled that of Mizuki’s later works.
