Akane-chan

The story follows Akane Kamijo, the third daughter of a prestigious, wealthy family. Because of poor health during her early childhood, she was sent away to live in the countryside with her impoverished uncle, an artist. Years later, Akane returns to her wealthy family in Tokyo as a wildly energetic, tough, and free-spirited tomboy. She struggles drastically to adapt to the refined, strict, and elegant lifestyle of high society. After transferring to the prestigious Shirakaba Academy, her rough manners initially cause chaotic problems (and brief expulsions), but her kind heart and boundless vitality win people over. She eventually befriends a wealthy yet naive and bullied boy named Hidemaro, and together the duo navigate and solve various zany, comedic misadventures around the school. It was also adapted into an anime that aired from April 6, 1968 to September 29, 1968 on Fuji Television.
