In the near future, Ersona technology allows human minds to be digitized after death so they can live on forever. This gives way to people who lose all sense of meaning in their physical lives, and decide to use a euthanasia drug known as Escort to commit suicide so they can become Ersona as quickly as possible. Is there any meaning to life in a society where people’s minds can live on forever?
