The protagonist, Mirai Mukaidachi, leads a life of privilege as the heir to the large corporation Mukaidachi Holdings. Blessed with a good family background and refined looks, he lives freely, involved with multiple women—yet feels an unfillable emptiness deep inside.
Concerned about Mirai's romantic situation, his father, Futoshi Mukaidachi, and mother, Haruna Mukaidachi, arrange an omiai (arranged meeting) with a certain young lady from a respectable family. However, the two don't hit it off, and the meeting quickly falls through.
