Ichinomiya, the young master of a merchant family, is captivated by Komane, a young man who performs a dance at the Ennenkai festival he attends out of obligation. Through the meddling of their friends, the two spend the night together, but Komane, experiencing intimacy for the first time, is overwhelmed by Ichinomiya's practiced demeanor. That fleeting moment changes the fate of the two—and so begins a love story from a bygone era.
