## The problem

When one submits a url through the website, it uses the internal endpoint resolve_link_inherited_defaults to canonicalise the url. This endpoint is not present in the public api, making it very difficult to submit links via the api.

Additionally, the documentation for adding urls in the api (under /v0/my/submissions/{resource}) seemed somewhat difficult to follow, with several read-only fields that shouldn't be filled in.

## The idea

Make the endpoint accessible through the public api. Alternatively the server could properly handle canonicalising links that are submitted. Additionally, but somewhat tangentially, submitting new links requires overwriting all of the existing links. It would be preferable, if perhaps asking too much, if a method for only submitting new links could be added to the api.

## Today

As far as I could tell, the only way to get it working is to use the internal endpoint with an existing session cookie.
