 **Hello friends,** MangaBaka got a new look! The sidebar is gone and navigation now lives at the top of the page. Almost every page on the site was rebuilt from the same set of building blocks, so things finally look and behave the same everywhere. ### :compass: Navigation On desktop the sidebar is replaced by a top bar with grouped menus: **Browse**, **Library**, **Community** and **Data** (plus **Mod** for moderators). Notifications and your account menu, now with your profile picture, sit on the right. On phones there's a bottom navigation bar. **Browse**, **Community** and **Data** open as drawers, so everything is within thumb reach. Pages also have a proper footer now. On very wide screens the site stays centered instead of stretching edge to edge. ### Content rating in one tap The **Browse** menu has a new content rating slider: Safe, Suggestive, Erotica, Porn. Pick a level and you get that rating plus everything below it. Hovering previews the level, and it saves as soon as you pick. Want something more specific? The banana icon next to the slider opens the per-rating picker. If your choice isn't a simple level, the slider shows "Custom mix". ### :mag: Search The header search box now suggests matches as you type. Use the dropdown to pick what you're searching: **Series**, **My Library** or **Publishers**. #### Search filtering The header search and the search page filters are now separate. The filter column stays in place while you scroll through results, and a collapsed filter shows what you selected right under its name, so you can see your active filters at a glance. Mix, My Recommendations and Merge Queue moved out of the search dropdown. You'll find them in the menus. ### :books: Series page The **Info** tab got the biggest makeover, e.g. MB!222 - On wide screens it's three columns: cover, library and publishers on the left, details and description in the middle, tags on the right - The cover is bigger - The tag list no longer jumps around while the page loads ### :bookmark: Tracking your progress If a series is in your library, its page now shows your status, chapter and volume right there: - Tap the number to open the editor - Tap `+` to add one. Tap it a few times quickly and it saves once, not five times - At the last chapter, `+` opens the editor instead of going past the total - Every progress change comes with an **Undo**, also on library cards 3 Not signed in? "Add to library" brings you back to the series after you sign in. ### :bar_chart: For data contributors The **Data** menu shows how many merges and submissions are waiting, with a bar showing how old the pending submissions are. ### :wrench: Smaller fixes - iPhone: Safari no longer zooms in when you tap a text field - Light theme: a few warnings and the finances budget bar were invisible, now they show - Long publisher names no longer spill out of their column - Links to the Data and Discussion forums that led to a 404 work again - Profile pages only load the charts when you open the Stats tab ### Goodbye translations The site is English only now. The German, Spanish, Basque and Dutch translations and the language picker have been removed. Translations _will_ be back in the future, but the current system was wildly inefficient and only translated about 10-15% of the current website, so it was better to just rip it out now and come back with a stronger solution in the future. ### What's next A handful of pages still use the old look, and we'll get to them over the coming weeks. If something looks broken or off, let us know in the [Inbox](/forum/mangabaka/inbox).
