Jillian was in a fix. A clause in her uncle's will stipulates that unless she marries the town's police chief, Theodore Graves, she will forfeit her ranch, which is her home. Jillian has known Theodore since she was little. She likes him. But the idea of marrying him, when they haven't even dated, is too much. Jillian is twenty-one years old, but she's never been in a romantic relationship with a man. In fact, she lives with the terrible memory of nearly being raped when she was a teenager by a man her uncle had hired to do odd jobs. Can Jillian overcome her fear of men to become a bride one day?

Gyro leads the race at the end of the first stage—but it's too soon to celebrate just yet.
