Hidehisa Kanohara, a chef, has to take a leave of absence due to trouble at work. While visiting shrines in Kyoto for a change of pace, his foot slips in the rain and he falls off a cliff. When he wakes up, he finds himself in the land of Awai, a village where the Inari gods gather. While searching for a way to return to the human world, Hidehisa takes on the role of looking after the little foxes who are candidates for God...?
