-Why do angels take the form of monsters? In this modern age, a colossal tower pierces far beyond the Carman Line a dungeon known as the ‘Celestial Prison’. It is an era where wielding a sword imbued with demonic power, a ‘Demon Sword’, allows one to carve out a life relying solely on brute strength. While many youths aspired to become ‘Demon Sword Masters’, Jinya Kokucho felt no particular interest, instead working diligently at part-time jobs for a shady employer. Ironically, however, he accidentally came into possession of a Demon Sword one day, becoming one of them. Defeating the monsters of the Heavenly Prison, seizing their power, and using it to strengthen both his Demon Sword and himself. As he did so, he gradually came to understand.
