Seraphim is the story of a future earth devastated by the “Angel Plague,” a pandemic that induces apocalyptic visions in the afflicted, even as it ossifies their bodies into dead, seraphic forms. Two of the most acclaimed anime directors of all time, Ghost in the Shell’s Mamoru Oshii and Perfect Blue’s Satoshi Kon, came together to create a manga: Seraphim: 266613336 Wings. Seraphim is from Animage, the magazine that originally serialized Hayao Miyazaki’s Nausicaä manga. (Source: Dark Horse) *Note: Includes chapter 0*
In a parallel Japan, the government struggles to handle the urban guerrilla called "Sects". To confront Sects' activity, "Shutokei" (Metropolitan Police) was organized and its Special Armed Garrison "Tokki-Tai: Kerberos" standed at the front line with their heavy arms. Although Tokki-tai achieved a triumph over Sects, people started to oppose their violent and bloody measure. Politically isolated, Tokki-tai made a final decision on their own fate...
This novel is set in Japan in the late 1960s, where the youth are organizing a violent uprising against the government. Part of this revolt is the politically active student, Rei, whose fate is one day, coincidentally, bound to a mysterious girl, Saya. An exciting criminal case, and a voyage into the discovery of vampirism, takes its course.
The story focuses on Foxy Croquette O-Gin, the legendary female tachiguishi also known as Young Lady in The Red Spectacles.
The elite sniper Eito Kurosaki aka "Afghan Hound" is sent after the exiled Kerberos Koichi Todome who led the Kerberos Uprising. The once brothers in arms are now deadly enemies.
Follow the the historical events of a very alternative Meiji Restoration in which all the prominent figures have the features of man's best friend!
One day during class, high schooler Suzuka Shigeru got a text message from his classmate, Kazama Akio. The text message read "I have something interesting to show you." Having no idea what he wanted to show him, Shigeru visits the Kazama residence. The Kazama residence is huge and looks to have a lot of history behind it. Akio takes Shigeru to a cluster of three "Torii" (Japanese Shinto gates) in the huge backyard of his mansion. At sunset... when the shadows of the three gates merge, a shining beacon of light forms at the cross section. Out of curiosity behind this mysterious phenomenon, Akio pushes Shigeru and himself through the beacon of light. Next thing they know, they end up in the Edo period of warring Japan, in between the battle between the Iga and Kazama Ninja clans...!
Adaptation of the 1995 anime movie Ghost in the Shell, using the 35mm film for the panels.
In 2002 a complete collection of both the original series and Dragon Receiver was published as one volume.
