Mitsui Tooru works for a large company, but all he really wants to do is spend his days relaxing at hot springs. So when his boss tells him to do some real work for once and pull in a certain customer, however he can, Tooru takes it as his chance to visit a hot spring on the company dime! And while he's at it, maybe he'll invite along the new girl who's apparently been constipated lately... Little does he know, the company he's supposed to be meeting with has already proven difficult and rejected previous offers, and this is just Tooru's boss's way of creating an excuse to fire him!

We rejoin Tooru heading into the 21st century, some 10 years after he first discovered his power to become invisible. Sometime in his 2nd year of high school, his powers stopped working, and he's managed to become a productive member of society. Then, one day, his aunt asks him to clean up the freezer, and he discovers an old container of salmon roe that had frozen away in a corner. Miraculously, the roe in this container still activates his power! And of course, Tooru's still not quite restrained enough to not use this power again...

Two competing restaurants stand across the street from each other: The Oden restaurant called Yukie, and the rice-based restaurant called Meshiya. The owners of these restaurants, Asakura Yukie and Yanagawa Gengorou, also seem to have some kind of long-standing feud. This is most unfortunate for their children, Sakura and Shin, who have fallen in love. The two of them meet for secret romantic trysts, dreaming of the day when they can marry and build a restaurant with both oden and rice.
