Tokuko, who has lost all her money after being cheated by her best friend, has a strange encounter with Morika, a writer, and Mari, an office worker. The three hit it off and start living together...

Kubota Saki, too scrawny and short to be an athlete, is the only boy in his school's theatre club. The girls work him hard, often sending him on lots of odd jobs, but he mostly likes being helpful. Saki also has to deal with his friend Ogata, from the baseball club, who keeps trying to get Saki to introduce him to the theatre club girls. The last major part of his life is his athletic childhood friend Jinko. She seems to like him, but she's way too awkward to get any kind of message across on that front. As the story opens, the theatre club is planning their summer retreat and their presentation for the school's cultural festival.
