Doesn't want to move to Tokyo and prefers to stay with her grandfather in her old house, Touko stays out of her home on the day her family is supposed to move. While she's walking in her neighborhood, she meets a boy who just moved from Tokyo to live here.
The manga centers on French historical figure Joan of Arc, also known as "The Maid of Orléans." (Source: Anime News Network)
Yaji and Kita and their adventures parody two comedic figures from Japanese literature who wandered from town to town, encountering bad guys and generally making fools of themselves. In this iteration, they are two schoolgirls who wander from school to school, fighting the bad guys and generally saving the day. Rei Shinokita (Kita) is a butchy, serious blonde girl with a penchant for rescuing (and becoming the object of affection for) lovely young ladies, and Junko Yajima (Yaji) is a tall, lovely brunette girl with a impetuous nature and a habit of rescuing (and becoming the object of affection for) beautiful boys. In practically every arc of *Yajikita*, you can be sure of a few things – the yakuza will be involved, there will be much fighting, Yaji and Kita will be inutterably cool, the girl will fall in love with Kita and the boy with Yaji. It continued to be serialized in Mystery Bonita from December 6, 2003, to February 6, 2006. The first 22 volumes were published by Akita Shoten between 1983 and 1991; volumes 23 through 29 were published from 2004 to 2006.*

42 year old "shachiku" (company slave) Matsuda Takeshi gets worked to death, as is customary in Japan. His one dying wish is to work for a decent enterprise, not the black company he had been working for. His wish is heard by a god who, for his own amusement, has him reincarnate as a young elf male in another world, with increased affinity for earth magic and ability to command golems. The new golem master sets out on a quest to acquire the Seven Treasures left behind by a legendary mage from 1000 years ago.
