Lovecraft's "The Colour Out of Space" In the tale, an unnamed narrator pieces together the story of an area known by the locals as the "blasted heath" in the wild hills west of Arkham, Massachusetts. The narrator discovers that many years ago a meteorite crashed there, poisoning every living being nearby; vegetation grows large but foul tasting, animals are driven mad and deformed into grotesque shapes, and the people go insane or die one by one.

Keyaki no Ki is a collection of eight stories, selected from nearly two hundred of the great storyteller Ryuchiro Utsumi, these are the solid rock on which Taniguchi builds a deep, complex and mature reflection on daily life in Japanese society that has always been dominated by very strict schemes. Another masterpiece by Taniguchi, an author too huge to not be read.
