Four years ago, a large scale disaster in Tokyo claimed two million lives. The remaining thirteen districts of the city were isolated into the Tokyo Barricade Zone. Morisaki Harumi, an unruly kid with great fighting strength, is his family's sole survivor from the incident. One day, in a traffic accident, Haru gets pulled into a world of violence and meets Mana, the girl who turned herself into an ancient sword.
Wataru and Makoto are in love and although they're a same-sex couple, they are recognized and accepted by most of their classmates. Perfect, right? Wataru doesn't think so. In fact, he feels completely uncomfortable with the thought of doing anything but kissing Makoto, and even those are hard to come by. Things put a strain on their relationship when Makoto, a very pretty boy who was always mistaken for a girl when he was younger, begins to feel a little fed up with Wataru's attitude and unconciously goes to his cram school teacher for help, who also happens to be gay. Wataru's hesitation was done very smoothly and Makoto's enthusiasm for intimacy is very entertaining to read although one can gradually feel his unease towards their unusual relationship. I also gave Koide plus points for the rapid improvement I saw in her art work (Makoto is much more of a "pretty boy" by chapter 3). There's a touch of angst, coupled with lots of humour, which makes for a very enjoyable read.
