A light but sensitive comedy about friendship turning into love without sliding into pure angsty melodrama. Sumako Kari, in a very natural and matter-of-fact way, does a very lovely job of showing the awkwardness, shy tentativeness and doubts that a high school student experiences when he is forced reluctantly to acknowledge his real feelings about his male childhood friend. And how his confusion does not operate in an isolated vacuum but affects and hurts another girl, and most importantly, himself, as he tries to resolve and understand his attraction to his best friend.
