Second Half

“I don't need your help, so get lost, you bastard.”

Jelim, who had suffered another defeat in his second-ever Champions League final, was once again embroiled in rumors of a rift after rudely brushing off Aaron, the opposing team's striker and his former youth teammate, who had reached out to him. Since they really didn’t get along, it was more accurate to say they were actually at odds rather than just rumors of a rift. Anyway, since they were in different leagues, I didn’t give it a second thought.

“Let’s do better from now on, Jelim.”

That is, until a month later, when Aaron decided to join the same club as me. It’s shitty enough just to be on the same team as the guy who just screwed me over in the last final, but on top of that, he’s my ex-boyfriend from way back when. And we broke up in the worst possible way.
