Haburi

“If you don’t kill, you can’t save–” When people are experiencing negative feelings, spirits possess them, and gradually erode their soul to the brutal point where even ritual purification cannot save them. This phenomenon is called “the death phase”. In order to escape the pain of the eroding soul, the death phase attacks the living and eats the living soul. Haburi are specialists in the extermination of the brutalization that leads to the death phase. Saikawa clan is Haburi of Saijou city. Saikawa Hitsugi – a descendant of the Saikawa clan, longs for inheriting their duties like his father – a Haburi hero wielding a sword called a Guillotine (Girochin) knife. However, when Hitsugi knows the true meaning of his clan’s work, his carefree world is shaken up. Trauma in the heart, Guillotine (Girochin) on the back, continuing the family trade, high school student Hitsugi starts his terrifying battles depicting the activity of the hearse – the job of Haburi.
