Kiyone Hayate, a high school student who loves cute things, is playing a claw machine at his favorite arcade when he hears the sound of money being repeatedly inserted from the machine next to him. The man is wearing sunglasses and a hat... he looks pretty suspicious, but Kiyone feels sorry for him as he's completely engrossed in the game, so he decides to help him win the figurine the man is after. As Kiyone hands over the figurine and tries to leave, the suspicious man grabs his arm and makes a bizarre offer: "I'll pay for it, so will you go out with me!?" Kiyone runs away, thinking he's encountered a really weird guy, but the next day at school, the popular student council president, Misaki, who's said to be like a prince, suddenly approaches him and says, "Thanks for yesterday!"
