Noel, a young politician and first-term Member of the House of Commons for the ruling party, receives a text message one day from Helen, the party leader, inviting him to attend a meeting at the Prime Minister 's residence. After the meeting, Noel reunites with Thomas Cardinal, the opposition leader and his Eton alumnus, through Helen's arrangement. They have dinner together, and somehow end up spending the night together. The next morning, Noel leaves Cardinal's house to get the newspaper only to be surrounded by reporters, where he learns that Helen announced her intention to resign the previous night and nominated him as the candidate for Prime Minister. Thus, having entered the Prime Minister's residence, Noel embarks on the path of becoming the new, young leader of the ruling party…
