Ore wa Shachi

Umino Shachi, who grew up on the remote island of Yatsushima, dreamed of becoming a boxer and trained on his own every day. One day, when he spotted Seisaku Oyama, who had come to Yatsushima for some recreational fishing, Shachi realized he was a former world-ranked boxer and forcefully made him a guest at the bed-and-breakfast his family ran. After lavishing Oyama with hospitality, Shachi confided his desire to take up boxing. However, Oyama, who had already retired and withdrawn from the boxing world, advised him that he’d be better off not pursuing it. Yet, seeing the exceptional physical abilities Shachi displayed at every opportunity, Oyama recognized his potential and recommended that he visit a boxing gym in Tokyo.
