Tsukasa, whose dreams were crushed. Inori, left to fend for herself. These two share a dream...and their tenacity may be the only thing that sees them through. Their destination? The ice...on the world's stage!
There's no hotter place the world than this ice rink! Inori and Tsukasa have formed a partnership. Their goal: The Olympic Games. But in order to garner support, Inori will have to hit it big in her first competition: the Meikoh Cup!
On the ice, there are no absolutes...and that's why you can change your destiny at any moment! The West Japan championships, Inori and Tsukasa's first regional challenge, is underway! Using the two double jumps she's learned through intense training, the two of them must face off with the best that the powerhouse skating clubs of western Japan can offer!
After landing a triple-double combo ahead of Rioh, Inori can't wait to qualify for the Novice division of the Japan Figure Skating Championships this year. That way, she'll finally be on the same playing field as her rival Hikaru--and her coach Tsukasa has the perfect strategy to make that happen! But can Inori gain the new weapons she needs at this summer's training camp?
The Chubu block championship has begun! Its Novice class is filled with girls who've skated since before they were school age-an intense competition. Meanwhile, Inori only just made it into Novice class last month! With her coach Tsukasa, Inori's striving hard to make the national championship-and Tsukasa's friends in the Kago family are watching her skate for the first time!
It's the Chubu block competition, where all the contestants are preparing their very best performances-and now Inori's run is finally approaching. She's terribly nervous about the gap between her and the rivals in her Novice class, but Tsukasa has one promise for her-from now on, she'll be gunning for the gold medal! Now it's time to step up and make it happen, as a student-teacher pair that no one expects anything from prepares to engineer a miracle on the ice!
After aiming high and succeeding in the Chubu Block event, Inori and Tsukasa are on to the All-Japan Novice Championship, where they'll finally get to compete against their rival Hikaru. But if she wants to cut it among the elites in Japan's national skating scene, Inori has to learn a triple lutz and flip in the space of a single month. Already, the clock's ticking down fast-but when Tsukasa invites jumping expert Uobuchi in for a special lesson, Inori discovers a new, unexpected talent!
In the cold northern reaches of Japan, the All-Japan Novice tournament has begun-Inori and Tsukasa's long-awaited first national event, and also their first chance to compete directly against the seemingly unbeatable Hikaru. Inori scores an early break when she draws a spot well after Hikaru's in the skating order, but after learning the quadruple salchow, she's the center of attention on the sport's national stage-and she's got a gauntlet of experienced skates and coaches to take on!
After she added a quadruple salchow to her jump repertoire, Inori's become the target of attention as she and Tsukasa take on the All-Japan Novice meet. In it, Hikaru Kamisaki-the student of Olympic gold medalist Jun Yodaka-dominates with a quad toe loop, followed by a triple axel to round out the show. The performance stuns the other competitors, some of whom let their nerves fatally destroy their routines-but now it's time for Inori to get on the ice! It's the first direct competition between Inori and Hikaru for gold and glory... How will it turn out?!
Despite all their efforts, Inori and Tsukasa failed to put up big results at the All-Japan Novice figure skating tournament. She earned big points with her difficult quadruple salchow and high-level step sequence, but Inori wound up entering the Junior class without a podium to round out her Novice career. However, despite that disappointment, her intense efforts and rapid growth have made her a federation-designated skater, opening up huge opportunities for her! It's time to aim once again for victory-and even more advancement in the competitive Junior class!
Inori's made it into the Junior class, and both she and her coach Tsukasa are tackling new challenges now-including some leg pain that she just can't seem to shed. They'll have to overcome that, along with the intense new competition the Grand Prix series brings them, as they strive for the gold medal they've dreamed of! And thanks to Inori's fast growth and dedicated effort in the Novice class, Japan's skating federation has awarded her the right to skate in international tournaments! Now Inori's wearing her Team Japan jacket with pride as she and Tsukasa take on their first Grand Prix event-in Bangkok!
Inori and Tsukasa, fresh from reaching the Junior class and being named a designated skater by the federation, take on their first Junior Grand Prix event in Bangkok. She ultimately finished in fourth place, overwhelmed by the sheer talent of Iruka Okazaki and the other older skaters. After the end of the meet, they're both pressed by Riley Fox, head coach and founder of her own club, to join her group-firming up their desire to keep on growing all over again. Meanwhile, Hikaru suddenly informs her coach Shinichiro (who's in the hospital with a sudden illness) that she's leaving her club. The perspective shifts to Hikaru for the first time as the story kicks off a new chapter, depicting just how much every skater puts into their craft!
Inori is in the Junior class, and Hikaru's a Novice-and the only competition they'll be able to face each other this year is the All-Japan Junior Championships. Having lost to Hikaru back at the All-Japan Novices, Inori's tackling this event with an unwavering determination to win...while Hikaru, fully aware of Inori's relentless pursuit, trains under Olympic gold winner Riley Fox to reach even greater heights. But then, on the day of the All-Japan Juniors, Iruka-a trusted veteran skater to Inori-sustains a freak injury during practice. Doing her best to hide her distress, Inori heads into the rink...
