Musashi Mountain High School third grade Goshogawara is the only member of his school's sumo club. In order to take part in competitions, he tries to attract more members, and thanks to his enthusiasm and sincerity four more people join the club: judo team captain Kaoru Kiyokawa; pro wrestler Takayuki Kannai; skinny thug wannabe Nanno Ippei; and Raiden Goro, a giant guy but a very shy person who also happens to be an expert Go player. The five train together and later take part in a competition against a professional sumo club.
A transfer student from Okinawa comes to a small and normal middles school called Towadai. Wataru, the transfer student, was an exceptionally gifted athlete but was a problem child. His behaviour was the cause of him to transfer from school to school. He first participated in baseball practice for fun but was heavily recruited by the Towadai team but initially he refused to join. Until he fell in love with the team manager Seki Wakaba. The manga follows Wataru and the Towadai middle school through regional tournaments and then evnetually the national stage. The entire manga depicts one summer but lasted 20 years and has about 58 volumes. The author includes a lot of Okinawan words making it a very unique baseball manga.
Three novice golfers form Team Kiritanpo to compensate for each other's lack of talent, and compete across Japan and the United States.
The story revolves around a 202-pound, 18-year old girl named Okome Akino (whose name is a pun of "autumn rice"). After Okome enters a sumo match and wins against a male amateur fighter by a landslide, a trainer named Akane scouts her, and she enters the world of women's boxing. (Source: Anime News Network)
Donta cums from Rakugo. The symptoms first appeared when I was 2 or 3 years old. It seems that his lines in Rakugo really stuck with his ears at that time, and ever since then, he has felt pleasure from making people laugh through Rakugo. Rakugo is so important to Donta that he cannot afford to abolish it. However, when his pupil, Funakatsu, was entered into the Japanese Newcomer Performing Arts Competition, the younger generation's view of rakugo was pathetic. Still, in order to get people to understand Rakugo (or rather, to make himself happy), Donta makes a solo effort and starts performing ``nagashi'' Rakugo. What were the results?
