This is a story set in the dangerous Sengoku period, featuring the famous historical figure of Takeda Harunobu, later called Shingen. When he was fifteen, he accompanied his father to the Battle of Un no Kuchi, where he won his first victory as his father retreated. After that, his relationship with his father, Takeda Nobutora, changed. He heard rumors that his father wanted to give his inheritance to Harunobu's younger brother. Soon, Harunobu became certain that he must do something about his father...

Toukichirou Kinoshita, was suspicious of the religion of "Kaneme Kyou," which shows miracles to the people and gathers faith. He orders Akakage and Aokage, the ninjas of the Hida Ninja army, to investigate the case. The two found out that the miracles caused by "Kaneme Kyou" was due to ninjutsu, and confront the ninjas who manipulated the technique.

Dr. Kaneda was developing experimental giant robot warriors to fight the allies during the Second World War, but before his creations could see action, Allied bombs destroyed the facility and killed him. A decade later criminals discovered two of the surviving prototypes, #26 and 27 in the series, and used the remote controlled robots to commit a number of crimes. Young Shotaro Kaneda, the twelve year old son of Dr. Kaneda, did some investigating and discovered that the mob were hunting for the twenty-eighth robot in the series, rumoured to be the most powerful of them all. Racing the villains, Shotaro discovers the robot first, along with Dr. Shikishima, a colleague of his father who was also believed to be killed by the Allied bombing. Together the two prevent Tetsujin 28-go (the robot's official designation) from falling into the hands of the bad guys and decide to dedicate him to peace rather than war.

The story revolves around Princess Comet, a twelve-year-old girl who is also the princess of the Harmonica Star country of the Triangle Nebula. She was meant to meet the prince of the Tambourine Star country at a ball, but the prince ran away to Earth instead. As it turned out, Comet is sent to Earth to find him, though she has no idea what he looks like. "He will be known by the twinkling in his eyes" is the only clue she was given to the prince's identity.
