An anthology of stories relating to Mobile Suit Gundam UC's Mobile Suits. From U.C. 0079 to U.C. 0096 and beyond, follow the development of important Mobile Suits from the One Year War to the Laplace Incident.
A side story of "Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn". It takes the form of a documentary program "E.F.F.: Piece of the Star Moon", a propaganda program of the Earth Federation Forces, introducing the war deeds of some Federation pilots and revealing unknown facts about them.
The series takes place in an alternate world, staged mostly in the city of Eridana, whose territory is half in the Tseberun Dragon Empire, and half in the Lapetodes Seven Cities Alliance. Each half is separated by the Orielal River. In this world, special abilities called spell formulas (咒式, jushiki) exist, which are essentially chemical reactions augmented through special weapons that cause a magic spell-like effect. These special weapons are called Magic Staff weapons, and are as varied as regular weapons are. Spell formulists use these spell formulas to fight with "Beasts of Abhorrent Form," natural creatures that use spell formulas and pose a threat to humans, such as Dragons, Aions, or Enormes. The story focuses on the two main characters, Gaius Sorel and Gigina Ashley-Bufh, the only two employees of Spell Formulist dispatch office Ashley-Bufh & Sorel Co. Thirty years after World War III, Japan has suffered immense damage from a dangerous weapon known as a "Man Bomb" which affected nearly all Japanese men and rendered them unable to fight, with other men giving their lives for their country. Heihachi Edajima, an Otokojuku veteran and survivor of the Man Bomb, starts up a new facility known as Onnajuku, a tough combat training facility, and begins training several Japanese women to fight for their country. The manga follows Momoko Tsurugi, a descendant of former protagonist Momotarou Tsurugi, who recently enrolls in Onnajuku. As spirited and tenacious as her ancestor, Momoko's catchphrase is "As a woman, I ain't dying! I, Momoko Tsurugi, will show you my burning youth!" (Source: Anime News Network)
