Kondo Isami, a third-year high school student, has good grades but he is forced to decide which path to take because of his family’s financial situation. He wishes to go to this academy. After graduating from high school, Kondo enters the Defence Academy and meets Matsuhira Yosuke, Okita Soji, Harada Tadashi and Takei Tomoaki who become friends. He takes the first step to a new life, but when the entrance ceremony ends, the attitudes of the senior students including Sakaki Ryuya and Nishiwaki Takashi change drastically and strict coaching begins.
