Agents of the Four Seasons: Dance of Spring

Locked in their endless dance, the seasons flourish but do not yield their time willingly to the winds of change. Transitioning them is a responsibility undertaken by humans—known as Agents of the Four Seasons. Ten years ago, Lady Hinagiku failed in her duties as the Agent of Spring. Now, flanked by her loyal protector, Sakura, she has returned to thaw the cold winter once again. But the music did not cease in her absence, and for ten years, it fell upon the other Agents to uphold this eternal dance. If Lady Hinagiku is to fulfill her duty, she must bring spring to a world that has forgotten its warmth—and find her footing among those who have carried on without her all these years.

Winter’s frigid embrace gives way to the abundant warmth of spring as Lady Hinagiku returns to Yamato. The Agent of Spring and her impassioned Guard step gracefully through the land, reviving it with color and life—and confront painful scars that linger from Hinagiku’s time away. For the seasons did not pause their dance, nor did the crushing weight of expectation relent in her absence. On their journey, they encounter the Guard of Summer and accompany her to the Summer villa, where the Agent awaits them. But as the pairs bond over the unique challenges of their destiny, the tendrils of those who seek to disrupt the cycle inch ever closer…

The unending dance of seasons is not without those who begrudge the cycle, and Lady Hinagiku’s gentle tide of spring is punctuated by cacophonous violence when the Summer Villa is attacked! Falling into a familiar step, Sakura moves to her lady’s aid, defending Hinagiku from insurgents who threaten to destroy everything they hold dear. The tempo has increased, keeping Agents and Guards alike on their toes. For as the insurgents continue to dance to their own tune, the danger to the seasons, the cycle, and the world begins its crescendo—and tragedy awaits the Agent who lies in their crosshairs.

The insurgents make their boldest move yet with a direct attack on the autumn villa and abscond with Nadeshiko, the Agent of Autumn! But the seasons press onward, a fact Lady Hinagiku is all too familiar with. As she continues to journey through Edo spreading her tide of spring, Winter follows close behind—hoping to catch a glimpse of the girl he was ripped from ten long years ago...
