Goblin Slayer Side Story: Year One

THE DIE IS CAST.After his sister is brutally murdered during a goblin raid, a young boy swears vengeance upon the creatures who killed not only her but also the rest of his village. Five years later and now a novice adventurer, he is by chance reunited with his childhood friend, another survivor of the massacre. Despite his inexperience, crude battle gear, and low rank, the boy sets off alone on a mission to defeat a nest full of goblins-thus begins the origin story of how he came to be known as Goblin Slayer!

The die is cast.During one of his usual raids, the young man who has come to be known as Goblin Slayer discovers a ring that glows with a mysterious, fiery light. In his quest to identify it, he’s introduced to Arc Mage, an eccentric wizard who lives on the edge of town. She enlists Goblin Slayer’s help in revising the Monster Manual, a task the Guild has entrusted to her. It just so happens that the article she’s been assigned to write is about…goblins.Arc Mage and the young Goblin Slayer’s ongoing research takes them to the ends of the earth, where they eventually reach an ominous, dark tower…It’ll take some teamwork to get all the way to the top!

THE DIE IS CAST.Guild Girl summons Goblin Slayer to discuss his promotion—and introduces him to a beautiful woman in men’s clothing: the proctor who will oversee his exam! This colleague of hers doubts Goblin Slayer’s accomplishments, which consist entirely of slaying goblins, and she has come all the way from the capital to test him herself. Goblin Slayer soon ends up in an impromptu adventuring party with Examiner where he gets a glimpse of her spiked chain weapon and her history in the Dungeon of the Dead. Together, they hunt down a growing horde of goblins attacking a nearby village and plunge straight into the nest!

While Goblin Slayer is off hunting goblins, he encounters a mysterious elf fighter. For her own reasons, this blue-haired woman decides to join him on his hunts, and they work together. The payment? Training in the sword from this elf fighter. A standard adventure ends, giving way to days of hard training. When Goblin Slayer and his new acquaintance head for a cave that other adventurers have entered never to return, Chaos is waiting for them...
