This first volume focuses on the young Kanichi, living cheerfully, brightly, and resilient through the tumultuous and chaotic postwar era. The "burnt-out black market" era immediately after the war is a story set a long time ago, but Baron's masterful storytelling delivers this thrilling work with accurate historical research and a brilliant story development.
