Hearing the news of the passing of his childhood friend Ushio, Shinpei returns to his hometown on the remote island of Hitogashima to attend her funeral. Little does he know that it is the beginning of a summer full of mystery and horror! No one is prepared for the time-twisting adventures ahead that defy life and death!

It is July 22nd again? Shinpei is still trying to figure out what happened to his hometown on the remote island of Hitogashima. He can hear the voice of his dead childhood friend Ushio, his right eye changes color, and he seems to be seeing the dead Ushio in front of him. What lies ahead in Shinpei's fate?

The Hitogashima Summer Festival tragically ended, and July 22nd starts again for the fourth time! Shinpei is now looking for the key character, Ryunosuke Nagamo, that can possibly help him defeat the deadly "Shadows". What secret does Nagamo hold?

Shinpei and Nagamo defeat the shadow "Shiorih", and are awaiting for the shadow "Mioh" to come to them. However, it is the shadow "Ushioh" that appears before Shinpei. Meanwhile, Mioh approaches with murderous intent...

Ushio and her shadow Ushioh go to Mount Takanosu to search for Shiori, and they have to battle a stray shadow at the old Hishigata Hospital location. During the fight, the shadow Ushioh finally comes to terms with her existence and manifests her powers...

Through the secret passage under the Hishigata Hospital, Shinpei and the gang arrive at Hiroko's Grotto. There, they found the shadow of Sou and Tokiko's mother strangling her husband. Can Shinpei save Dr. Hishigata and uncover the true intentions of Heine and the deadly Shadows?

Shinpei and Ushioh visit the Hitogashima Shrine and confront the priest Masahito Karikiri with questions about the Shadows. What they are about to find out will cost them dearly...

Ryunosuke and Hizuru confront Karikiri, and they have a shocking realization during their battle with Shide. Meanwhile, Shinpei and Mio visited their family farm and Karikiri also appears in front of them...?! How can Karikiri be in two places at the same time?

Shinpei and the gang need to find the Ushioh from the 9th loop in order to revive her full power. However, Heine has copied Shinpei's memories and now knows how to search for Ushioh as well. Will Shinpei be able to reunite with Ushioh in the end...?
