Reggie Byers self-published comic about the Japanese-American martial artist Kyoko Shidara, who is tired from working as a bodyguard for a criminal organization (The Organization) and decides to become a freelance bodyguard instead. In one of her assignments , she meets his brother Koji after many years and discovers that he has became a assassin for hire for the yakuza. She tries to talk with him and get him out of that life. The story is continued in Blade of Shuriken, published by Eternity.

After her work with DangerTemps, Shuriken is confronted by foes from her past : Morgan Enterprises has created an synthetic humanoid organism,Slate, that can transform itself in any person with only DNA contact. Morgan choose a sample of Shuriken's DNA. And then Slate is ordered to kill Shuriken, to complete itself and reveal the obscure thoughts of the ninja.

Detective Doug Jordan, the lead investigator on the case, has had problems with his self-confidence ever since he froze as his girlfriend, a rock star named Joan Harlowe, was attacked. He feels he has failed as a man. Harlowe returns after a long tour to meet with Doug. She is constantly shadowed by her friend, a deadly female martial artist named Kyoko Shidaro, a.k.a. Shuriken. When the three decide to dine at a popular night-spot, they are attacked by the killer, or so they think. Doug doesn’t freeze this time and shoots the perpetrator instantly. Later, when the detective inspects the body, he realizes that the man he shot was a copycat criminal. This means that Joan and Kyoko are alone, and in danger…
