Description
A genius manga artist who left an immense impact during his brief career spanning less than two years in the early 90s. The complete works of Ryuuzou Takagi, sought after by manga connoisseurs, are published for the first time commercially in tankobon format! Who was Ryuuzou Takagi? He was born in Aichi Prefecture in 1968. In 1991, he was honored as a runner-up in Kodansha's Chiba Tetsuya Award with his future highly anticipated, yet he passed away prematurely in 1993. His works published in Kodansha's seinen manga magazines garnered high praise and resonance at the time, profoundly influencing the world of New Wave manga primarily from the 1990s onward. Due to the vividness of his work and the brevity of his career, Ryuuzou Takagi has become something of a legendary figure among manga connoisseurs. However, his works were never commercially published in tankobon format (the only collected works published were the posthumous Takagi Ryuuzou Sakuhinshuu, distributed to associates and some readers). Despite the high praise for his work, accessing it remained extremely difficult. Therefore, in response to numerous requests, we are now compiling the works left behind by Ryuuzou Takagi into a single A5-sized volume for publication. For this book's production, we have re-scanned all works based on Mr. Takagi's original manuscripts. We have prepared new layouts featuring higher resolution than at the time of their original publication. Please take this opportunity to experience the legacy of the little-known genius manga artist, Ryuuzou Takagi. (Source: Fukkan, translated)
