Part 1 (2 chapters) Another two story manga. The first story is about a girl named Ruby who discovers a mask that gives her powers that was granted by an alien visiting earth. This version of the story is the one originally serialized in [*Shougaku Ninensei*](https://www.mangaupdates.com/publishers.html?pubname=Shougaku+Ninensei) (for second grade students) and [*Shougaku Sannensei*](https://www.mangaupdates.com/publishers.html?pubname=Shougaku+Sannensei) (for third grade students). The other version is included in the Osamu Tezuka Complete Manga Works edition of [*Marvelous Melmo*](https://www.mangaupdates.com/series/0fu3nl8). Part 2 (4 chapters) The second half is remarkable in that it is Jungle Taitei [ジャングル大帝](https://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=54671455607), simplified and re-written for 3rd grade students. This was a tie-in manga for the then ongoing anime in 1966. As a little lion cub in the jungle, Leo must find a way to stop an aggressive red rhinoceros from hurting his jungle friends. A boxing match between Leo and a rogue lion, Bubu breaks out. Leo saves a brave hero as he gets revenge on Lubar, an elderly leopard. Finally, Laman, Laiya's long-lost brother tells a story about how a hydra-snake was able to devour their entire family. Note: Only the 4 chapters in Part 2 has been translated.
In a jungle in Africa right on the equator there was a white lion, Panja, who was called the "Emperor of the Jungle." But Panja is killed by a hunter. His wife, the Queen of Jungle, who has been caught by the hunter, gives birth to the son of Panja on a ship bringing them to a zoo. She names her son "Leo" and has him escape from the ship, saying, "Go back to Africa and become the successor of your father." Then a storm comes and the ship is overturned, and sinks with the Queen on it. Leo is washed up on the beach of a port town in the Arabian Peninsula, not Africa. This is where Leo's long adventure begins.
