A string of local homicides has left the residents of Ira Street on edge— everyone but Shavonne. The penniless author is too preoccupied with his next paycheck… well, that and his strange new neighbor Lewellyn, who spends his days peeling onions at Shavonne’s doorstep and has an annoyingly cute smile. But when he stumbles upon a gruesome sight while sharing a candlelit dinner at Lewellyn’s place, he quickly realizes he can no longer dismiss the murders—not when he might be next!

“Can I be the only one in your world, Shavonne? You’re the only one in mine.” Shavonne’s head is full of stress, his apartment is covered in dust, and the hall leading to his front door is littered with footprints that aren’t his own. His stalker is getting bolder by the day, and everybody around him refuses to do anything about it. Everybody…except Lewellyn. When Shavonne’s eccentric neighbor saves his life, his fondness for Lewellyn can’t help but grow into affection…and affection turns into a kiss?! But will the hole Lewellyn fills in his life be enough to make Shavonne forget that he’s a murderer?

Shavonne has finally acknowledged his feelings for his murderous neighbor, and their relationship blossoms into romance. As if his life couldn’t get better, he receives an offer from the famous Krainer Publishing, who promise him a chance to step into the spotlight he rightfully deserves. But that’s awakened a side of Lewellyn that Shavonne hasn’t seen before—a possessive one. While Shavonne prepares for his new career, Lewellyn is lurking in the shadows, uncovering the secrets of a past long forgotten—a past in which Shavonne was a lowly prison guard, and Lewellyn an even lowlier animal...

The Shavonne that Lewellyn knew is gone. The prison guard who would wipe his wounds, read him books, and feed him onions has vanished. In his place is a man who looks like Shavonne but couldn’t treat Lewellyn more differently. Each night, the guard’s personality changes like the seasons— he’ll angrily berate Lewellyn one day and smother him with kindness the next. All until Shavonne tells Lewellyn that he won’t be back, that he’s going off to live his happy ending without him. But for Lewellyn, the dog of Lute, Shavonne is everything. And if his world won’t come back to him, he’ll have no choice but to go looking for it instead…

Despite the tentative routine Shavonne and Lewellyn have established in their relationship, past and future loom over them like guillotines waiting to drop. Lewellyn’s nightmares continue, Shavonne’s presence the only thing that can curb them, but the royal contest and Turner’s suspiciously flirtatious behavior make it harder for Shavonne to return home each night. With the clock ticking down toward the submission deadline and the Lute Penitentiary bigwigs lurking in the shadows, Shavonne and Lewellyn may find themselves powerless against the forces determined to keep them apart…

For all his life, Shavonne was looked over by the rest of the world. A pitiful orphan that no family would adopt, a ghost writer who would never be given his rightful praise and a lonely man living alone on Ira Street. That was all until Lewellyn entered his life. With Lewellyn, nothing else came to matter, because as long as they were together, they had everything. But even this simple and happy life with Lewellyn seems doomed as the ghosts of the past threaten to rip apart their worlds away from each other. To save his lover, Shavonne must crawl through the dark dungeons of his forgotten memories that may have been better off buried forever…Lewellyn and Shavonne’s murderous saga comes to an end with this final volume!
