Ruru Miyanagi is an ordinary girl who lives in an ordinary, boring, rural town by the sea. One day, while digging for clams, she finds a beautiful gemstone buried in the sand. Her hopes of cashing in the gemstone are thwarted when she notices a tiny crack in it. But when she tries to fix the crack herself, the gemstone breaks, and Mag Menuek, the god of destruction, appears in its place. Thus begins Ruru’s new life of living with an immortal, somewhat-adorable God of Chaos hell-bent on taking over the world!
Ruru’s life was turned upside-down when the god of destruction Mag Menuek started living with her. Now she’s got her hands full with the god of madness Naputaaku and the Holy Knight Izuma both set on defeating Magu-chan. And to make matters worse, Magu-chan isn’t one to sit around and wait for trouble to come to him. Instead, he decides he needs to expand his domain and visit Ruru’s school!
With each passing day, Magu-chan’s domain of influence slowly but surely expands. At first, he may have only had one simple girl for a follower, but now he has a whopping…four students! However, with Naputaaku and now Uneras in the mix, Magu-chan’s got a bit of competition when it comes to gods in the neighborhood. That is, until Magu-chan comes down with a cold! Who even knew gods could catch colds?! Will Ruru and the gang be able to cure Magu-chan of this plague?!
At long last, Ruru is finally reunited with her mother, who has been working abroad and unable to come home. She’s excited that the two–er, with Magu-chan, make that three of them will get to spend the holidays together! Then, after her mother returns to work, the turning of the seasons brings with it a new transfer student! Izuma of the Holy Knighthood has transferred to Ruru’s school to keep an eye on her and Magu-chan! Meanwhile, more Gods of Chaos stir from their slumber as their seals are broken one by one…
Now that springtime’s in full bloom, Ruru and her friends are finally third-year students! But, for some reason, Magu-chan and Uneras have transferred into Ruru’s class. Is this another one of Magu-chan’s tricks? Even worse, Magu-chan gets discovered and confiscated by a teacher! What should have been a gentle start to the new school year is instead filled with chaos!
A year after meeting Ruru, Magu-chan, God of Destruction, expands his reign by building a secret fort, playing video games, and studying the lives of foolish lowly humans. But the wicked God of Fate, Muscat, finally spins his dark plans to take down Magu-chan into reality…
Ruru and the gang continue to enjoy summertime with their favorite wicked gods! There’s telling ghost stories, helping out Ren’s family, and playing by the seaside. But when Muscar, the God of Fate, meddles in their lives once again, Magu-chan and the other gods end up stranded on a desert island! Will they find a way to reunite with Ruru?
Between sneaking into the school sports day event and giving questionable advice to Naputaaku’s minion Shark, Magu-chan is enjoying his slow life of everyday world domination. But trouble arrives when a mysterious girl shows up at Ruru’s school. Who is she, and why is she so interested in the occult club?!
Ruru wonders what high school and beyond will look like as she wishes for a peaceful future with Magu-chan and the gang. However, she gets caught up in a classic Groundhog Day scenario masterminded by a new Wicked God! Will Ruru’s dream of continuing to live the slow life come true in this series finale?
