Spring Storm and Monster

Just her pet pig and her mom. Those are the only two beings Ranko needs or wants in her life—not all the irritating people at school, not her new stepdad, and certainly not that scary guy from the alley. Still, life is like a box of chocolates…so of course Scary Guy has to show up at her house, along with her new stepdad, as her adopted stepbrother. It’s the end of the world as she knows it! However, with her pig’s life and her mom’s happiness at stake, she’s determined to figure out how to survive the monster lurking in his eyes…

Ranko’s juuuust a tad worried that he’s obsessing a bit too much—after all, liking someone because they’re nice is one thing, liking someone because they’re them is a whole ‘nother story. Still, she finds him slightly endearing, so despite the monster lurking behind his eyes, she just can’t leave him be...

Not good. Sooo not good. Kaya’s incredibly strong obsession with Ranko is only getting worse—and it may partially be her fault for letting him off the hook a bunch of times. Still, expanding his world is important, so a date as a reward for behaving himself after his suspension ends should be okay, right…? Plus, inviting over her new sort-of-friend Nasu might help too. However, it seems his presence is having the opposite effect, since Kaya is now convinced that Ranko’s sweet, considerate guy friend is going to take her away—even though there’s no way she can leave this baby monster alone…!
