Hakuouki: Record of Daybreak

A collection of short stories, each split into two parts, all based on the famous otome game and anime series, Hakuouki, which follows Yukimura Chizuru as she begins her journey to find her missing father in Kyo and meets members of the Shinsengumi, who harbor an awful secret. Each story is written by different authors and is meant to individually highlight Chizuru's relationship with one of the main characters of the series. Consequently, there is a story dedicated to Hijikata, Okita, Saitou, Harada, and Heisuke.

Based originally on the famous otome game, this series is Hiraku Naki's version of Yukimura Chizuru's story as she arrives in Kyo from Edo to search for her missing father and eventually becomes involved with the Shinsengumi. This version begins the night that she meets the members for the first time.

From Spoils: Dreams, aspirations, and secret desires – these are the emotions harbored deep in the hearts of the Shinsengumi soldiers. Centered around Chizuru as she infiltrates Shimabara, Hakuouki: Sekkaroku is the manga-adaption of the new Hakuouki OVA of the same name, and was created under the guidance of the OVA’s supervising director. A must read for any Hakuouki fan, Sekkaroku provides an exciting expansion to the Hakuouki universe.
