Silver Fang Legend Weed: Orion

A giant demon bear named Akakabuto has taken over Futago pass. Shortly after, a silver, tiger-striped Akita pup named Gin is born and is trained as a bear-dog. Gin is brought to Riki (the leader of a large pack of dogs and Gin's father) to join the pack. Riki let's him join after proving his strenght and sends his platoons to all parts of Japan to recruit strong males to fight Akakabuto. Gin, the third generation of bear-dogs goes through many hardships for the purpose of stopping the terrifying bear, Akakabuto. A wild dog named Weed happens to hear that he is the son of Gin, the great leader of Ohu, who lead the dogs of Ohu to victory in a fight against the monstrous bear Akakabuto. The dogs have been at peace, and all has seemingly gone well. However soon the monstrous bear Monsoon attacks, wanting to claim Futago Pass as his own. All the while getting vengeance for his father, Akakabuto who was killed by Gin during the events of Ginga Nagareboshi Gin. Victory is not assured for the dogs, as an aging Gin has started to go blind. And the Supreme Commander Weed is fatally injured by one of Monsoon's kin. Weed's children have been sent away for training, and are oblivious to the crisis at hand. Can the soldiers of Ouu defeat this new take on an old threat? Or is this truly be to their last fight?

The story of Jiroumaru, an akita puppy who lives in a mountain hut with his siblings, mother, and two owners. When the puppies mother and owner die, the puppies take on the responsibility of looking after the little girl left behind, Anju.

The story follows Weed's pups Orion, Bellatrix, Rigel, and Sirius in their misadventures during their early childhood.
