Magnus is a skilled wizard with the ability to use various attributes.
Unfortunately the leader of his party orders him to cast spells that have no effect on the monsters they fight. The members of his party think he's useless and mistreat him, but one night, after another bout of insults, he is expelled from the party. Downtrodden he's approached by a merchant who saw how he was mistreated and gifts him a certain book… A book containing the entirety of the world's knowledge.

Now it's his turn to shine and rise above the party that thought him to be useless.
