Like an Unaffectionate Cat

"I don't really care anymore..." Asobi, the protagonist, remains unfazed even after being provoked into a fight at his part-time job and beaten so badly his face is covered in bruises. In his eyes, which seem to have given up on everything and expect nothing, he sees a man. He tries to break up the fight, but when the man tries to hit him with a blunt object, Asobi instinctively puts his body on the line to protect him. When he loses consciousness and wakes up, he finds himself in the house of the man he saved...?
